Drain Pump

The drain pump of a small thermal power plant is the core auxiliary equipment in the thermal system responsible for condensate recovery and safety guarantee. Its core function is to collect and transport the condensate (drainage) generated in the steam system, recover it to the deaerator or condenser system for reuse, and prevent water hammer, corrosion and reduction of heat transfer efficiency caused by water accumulation.

Functions of Drain Pump

  • Working Medium Recovery: Recover condensate from steam pipelines, heaters, cylinders and other components, reduce water supplement loss, and improve cycle thermal efficiency.

  • Safety Protection: Timely drain accumulated water to avoid water hammer and corrosion of cylinders/pipelines, ensuring the vacuum degree of the steam turbine and equipment safety.

  • System Regulation: Cooperate with frequency conversion and regulating valves to stabilize the water level of the heater and adapt to the variable load operation of the unit.
